Doping, nutrition, supplementation and injuries as a topic at the coaches’ seminar in synchronized swimming

Technical courses for trainers in synchronized swimming, which is supported by the IOC ( International Olympic Committee ) was held on January 19th and lecturers in front of Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia and Sports Medicine Association were Dr. Nenad Dikic and Dr.Marija Andjelkovic , who are in the Medical Commission of this association.

Synchronized Swimming as one of the most attractive Olympic sports is among the aesthetic sport where, in addition to techniques, appearance of swimmer is marked, why their nutrition and supplementation is crucial. Doping has become a compulsory subject in these seminars and coaches were interested in approved drugs that their swimmers take and what is the TUE procedure in case of diabetes or asthma. According to FINA statistics synchronized swimming because of the demanding movement in the water and the sports acrobatics, is one of the sports with high incidence of injuries and prevention was the main topic of this lecture.

Successful cooperation with the Alliance for synchronized swimming is hereby continued in the future.
