On Wednesday November 16th at the Sports Gymnasium, in front of more than 200 students of this high school, was a presentation of the project “Peers anti-doping education”. The presentation of the project was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Vanja Udovicic, Director of Sports Gymnasium, professor Snežana Rajačić of medical high school “Nadezda Petrovic”, and a representative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.

Minister Vanja Udovicic was particularly praised the project that ADAS springs into action anti-doping struggle in schools and among young people.

“These young educators take responsibility as your peers that you convey knowledge and experience so that we could be even better. We can easily reach out to professional athletes, we can easily point out the negative phenomena in professional sports – it’s hard to explain what it is negative in recreational sport. This is why today’s lecture aims to hear and adopt, not through the Internet and various websites, than from your peers, what is negative.” said the Minister Udovicic.

Following address of the Minister students lecture was held by 4 young girls educators from medical high school “Nadezda Petrovic”.

The result of peer education project so far is impressive: 11 young trainers for a month and a half educated about 1000 students, ie. every young educator was able to pass their knowledge on the fight against doping at about 100 classmates and children. Lectures are held at elementary or secondary schools and impressions are more than satisfactory. Groups of young educators also were created in medical schools in Kragujevac and Nis, and in future will all start with lectures.
