Coach Ivan Ivancic confirmed the importance of nutrition and supplementation in winning Olympic gold
It is hard to imagine winning the gold medal in the discus throw Sandra Perkovic at the Olympics finished in London 2012. without the proper nutrition and supplementation. Although it has been 30 years since Ivan Ivancic won his medals as a successful athlete, today as a coach he realized that sports nutrition plays an important role in success of athletes.
That is why coach Ivan consulted representatives of the CIS (Center for sports nutrition and supplementation), the SMAS (Sports Medicine Association of Serbia) and ADAS (Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia) with a desire to get advice and suggestions on proper supplementation.

Education about doping and sports nutrition showed the need for continuity among the athletes and coaches as well as among people who usually advise athletes.

An example that university sport can be organized on a professional level is the tournament, which has been for years organized by the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad. This year, the organizers invited members of ADAS, SMAS and CIS to held a lecture before about doping, nutrition and supplementation in soccer. Members of the 15 teams in this tournament attended the lecture, which was first organized in such a position. Participants got advice about nutrition and supplementation through SMAS and CIS experience with our professional football players. They also had the opportunity to hear about doping substances and their adverse effects, with emphasis on steroids.

SERBIA GOT ITS FIRST SPORTS NUTRITIONIST
Dr. Marija Andjelkovic has finished the sixth class, one of the 250 sports nutritionist licensed by the International Olympic Committee, ended a two-year course in sports nutrition and supplementation. Curiosity is the that Dr. Andjelkovic is the only doctor out of Anglo Saxons countries, as they have not been students on the course from Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia, South America and Africa. Among the first who congratulate her were the world's best nutritionist Louise Burk and Ron Maughan and Arne Lindquist (president of the IOC Medical Commission).
Otherwise, Dr. Marija Andjelkovic is the founder of the Center for Sports nutrition and supplementation. She has organised eight courses of sports nutrition and supplementation in cooperation with PanSport, Sports Medicine Association of Serbia and Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia, as well as tens of courses in sports nutrition for Sports Federations and the Olympic Committee of Serbia. The best proof of Dr. Andjelkovic activities is yesterday course for synchronized swimmer, next week course for the best track and field athletes and two courses devoted to martial arts and soccer accredited by credential from the Health Council of the Republic of Serbia.
