The Minister of Sports, Mr. Zoran Gajić, met today with the President of the Central European Anti-Doping Organization, Mr. Michael Cepic, and the Director of ADAS, Prof. Dr. MIlicom Vukašinović Vesić.
Mr. Cepić is also the director of the Austrian National Anti-Doping Agency, the Vice-President of the Expert Advisory Body of the World Anti-Doping Agency and a member of the founding board of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The Central European Anti-Doping Agency was founded in 2019 and brings together 9 member countries: Serbia, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania.
The main goals in the work of CEADO and within the rules and standards of the World Anti-Doping Code are:
- Harmonization on practical matters concerning the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards
- Exchange of experience and development of common ideas on issues of education and doping prevention strategies
- Exchange of information and knowledge in testing and intelligence program
- Promoting cooperation between different state authorities in connection with the illegal trade, sale and distribution of prohibited doping substances and methods
- Consideration of public health aspects related to anti-doping
- Joint work on anti-doping issues raised by any member country
- Issuance of joint statements and announcements on various anti-doping topics
- Cooperation with all anti-doping organizations
During the meeting, Minister Gajić expressed his satisfaction with the existence of such an organization and gave his full support to further activities and further development of the Central European Anti-Doping Organization.
