DOPING CONTROL OFFICER WAS ATTACKED ON JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP IN NIS

Dr. Tanja Nastasic, authorized doping control officer from Antidoping Agency in Republic of Serbia, was attacked by Nenad Mihajlovic, coach of judo club Slavija Novi Sad, on March 14, 2009 at Judo Senior Championship in Nish.

Hence Antidoping Agency of Republic of Serbia has submitted request to Judo Federation of Serbia to start proceeding of anti doping rule violation – tampering, or attempting to tamper, with any part of Doping Control, for which prohibition can be declared in duration of 2 years for the first tampering and perpetual for the second tampering, according to Law on Prevention of Doping in Sports.

According to Article 51 of same Law, any physical person is going to be fined from 10.000 to 50.000 dinars if he/she prevents any part of doping control.

On 14th March 2009 Nenad Mihajlovic unauthorizedly and coercively tried to enter doping station where doping controls were taking place at that moment. When Dr Tanja Nastasic warned him that he has no right to enter the station, Mihajlovic physically and verbally attacked her.

Dr. Tanja Nastasic has been diagnosed with contusion and soft tissue injury of left humeral region with many hematomas, free fluid in cubital region and contusion of left hemitorax, at Nis hospital.
