At the regular annual session, the Executive Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency elected our Prof. Dr. Milica Vukasinovic Vesic, Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia as a member of the Standing Committee on Health, Medicine and Research. The Standing Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency, has only 12 members elected from around the world, who represent the very top of sports medicine in the world and is one of the most prominent in the most prestigious bodies of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Prof. Dr. Vukasinovic Vesic is an eminent expert of our country, which has so far been the representative of Serbia in international sports federations as the Secretary of the Medical Commission of the European Swimming Federation and a member of the Legal and Ethical Commission of the World Wrestling Federation. In addition, in the mandate of prof. Dr. Milica Vukasinovic Vesic Serbia, through the work of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia, received the status of a country that serves as an example to others in the fight against doping in sports. However, what prof. Dr. Vukasinovic Vesic always points out that the goal of the Anti-Doping Agency is that today Serbian athletes in the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia have the support to continuously educate themselves, preserve their health and achieve top results in a fair way, without using any illicit substances.
The selection of the representative of Serbia in this extremely important body of the World Anti-Doping Agency is a well-deserved recognition for prof. Dr. Vukasinovic Vesic, as well as for the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia, who systematically and in synergy with all competent authorities in the Republic of Serbia made Serbia one of the leaders in the world in the fight against doping in sports.
